Life In A Village!

Living in Ighisu Vechi is so different then living in Sawyer. Each morning we go and get fresh bread from the little store/bar and every night we go and get fresh cow’s milk from our neighbor. Here everyone knows you whether you know them or not and not just in our village but also the villages close by knows about the Americans living with the Fryes. The week before the Sawyer team came Ashley and I got the opportunity to go to our neighbor’s house and be taught how to make pear plum jam the Romanian way. And even though we don’t speak the same language we were able to understand almost everything she wanted to tell us.  Also just the other day Ashley, Ben, and I had another opportunity to help the same neighbor pick her corn by hand. The cornfield was pretty big to be picking it by hand, but she had some of her other neighbors helping her to. To thanks us for helping her pick her corn she decided to go home and kill one of her roasters for us to eat. It was a very kind thing for her to do. but I am not use to having someone had me a fresh roaster. I look forward to spending more time with the villagers and Hope to get to know them better.

God Bless

Tierney
